عارف ہندی کہ بہ یکی از غار ہای قمر خلوت گرفتہ و اہل ہند او را جہان دوست میگویند
نور در بند ظلام آنجا نبوددود گرد صبح و شام آنجا نبود
English translation
There light was not in the chains of darkness, there no mists enveloped dawn and eventide.
Urdu translation
وہاں نور ظلمت میں گرفتار نہ تھا؛ نہ وہاں صبح و شام کا جھٹپٹا تھا۔

This is couplet 10 of 48 in “عارف ہندی کہ بہ یکی از غار ہای قمر خلوت گرفتہ و اہل ہند او را جہان دوست میگویند” (An Indian Ascetic, Known To The People Of India As Jahandost, Who Lives As A Hermit In One Of The Caverns Of The Moon) in the section The Sphere of the Moon, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Javid Nama (جاوید نامہ), published in 1932.
