گفت شیخ اے طائف چرخ بلنداندکی عہد وفا با خاک بند
English translation
Then said the Shaykh: ‘O wanderer in the lofty sky! Pledge thyself to be true, for a little, to the earth;

About this couplet
This is couplet 11 of 44 in “حکایت شیخ و برہمن و مکالمہ گنگ و ہمالہ در معنی اینکہ تسلسل حیات ملیہ از محکم گرفتن روایات مخصوصہ ملیہ می باشد” (Story of the Sheikh and the Brahmin, followed by a conversation between Ganges and Himalayas to the effect that the continuation of social life depends on firm attachment to the characteristic traditions of the community), from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Asrar-e-Khudi (اسرارِ خودی), published in 1915.
