بملازمان سلطان خبری دہم ز رازی
ز ستیز آشنایان چہ نیاز و ناز خیزددلکی بہانہ سوزی نگہی بھانہ سازی
English translation
What pride, what humility are there in a lovers’ quarrel! Eyes pretending nonchalance, and heart ignoring the pretence.

دوستوں کی کشمکش سے نیاز و ناز اٹھتے ہیں، میرا دل بہانہ سوز اور نگاہ بہانہ ساز (نگاہ محبوب کو دیکھنے کے لیے کوئی نہ کوئی بہانہ بنا لیتی ہے اور دل جو چاہتا ہے دلیرانہ کرتا ہے)۔
