قطع کردی امر خود را در زبرجادہ پیمای الی "شئی نکر"
English translation
Thou who hast torn thy heritage to shreds, treading the highway to a hateful goal;
Urdu translation
تو نے اپنے معاملات کو تفرقہ بازی کا شکار بنا دیا؛ اور تو ایک نا پسندیدہ چیز کی طرف چل نکلا۔
About this couplet
This is couplet 27 of 34 in “در معنی اینکہ نظام ملت غیر ازئین صورت نبنددوئین ملت محمدیہ قرآن است” (That The Organization Of The Community Is Only Possible Though Law, And The Law Of Muhammadan Community Is The Quran) in the section The Pillars of Islam, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Rumuz-e-Bekhudi (رموزِ بیخودی), published in 1918.
