"حق جوانی مسلمی با تو سپردکو نصیبی از دبستانم نبرد
English translation
‘God to thee committed a young Muslim, and he won, no portion of instruction from my school;
Urdu translation
'اللہ تعالے نے ایک مسلم نوجوان تیرے سپرد کیا تھا (کہ تو اس کی صیحح تربیت کرے) مگر وہ میری ادب گاہ سے سبق حاصل نہ کر سکا۔

This is couplet 15 of 43 in “در معنی اینکہ حسن سیرت ملیہ از تأدب بہ داب محمدیہ است” (That A Good Communal Character Derives From Discipline According To The Manners Of The Prophet (S.A.W)) in the section The Pillars of Islam, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Rumuz-e-Bekhudi (رموزِ بیخودی), published in 1918.
