در معنی اینکہ تو سیع حیات ملیہ از تسخیر قوای نظام عالم است
گیر او را تا نہ او گیرد تراہمچو می اندر سبو گیرد ترا
English translation
Seize thou this world, that it may not seize thee; and in its pitcher swallow thee like wine.
Urdu translation
تو اس کو تسخیر کر، تا کہ تجھے تسخیر رہ کر لے؛ ایسا نہ ہو کہ وہ تجھے اپنے سبو کی مینا بنا لے۔

This is couplet 20 of 47 in “در معنی اینکہ تو سیع حیات ملیہ از تسخیر قوای نظام عالم است” (That The Expansion Of Communal Life Depends Upon Controlling The Forces Of World Order) in the section The Pillars of Islam, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Rumuz-e-Bekhudi (رموزِ بیخودی), published in 1918.
