گفتم و حرفم ز معنی شرمسارشکوہ ی معنی کہ با حرفم چہ کار

English translation

Although I have expressed my views about Time yet my shallow words are ashamed of the meaning; and the meaning itself has a complaint: ‘What have I to do with the words?‛

میں نے بات کہہ تو دی ہے مگر میرے الفاظ معنی سے شرمسا ر ہیں (پوری طرح معنی کو ادا نہیں کر سکے) معنی کو یہ شکایت ہے کہ ان الفاظ سے میرا کیا تعلق۔
