خوش تو ہیں ہم بھی جوانوں کی ترقی سے مگرلب خنداں سے نکل جاتی ہے فریاد بھی ساتھ

Though we also are happy with the progress of the young
But some complaint from the happy lips also comes with it

ہم سمجھتے تھے کہ لائے گی فراغت تعلیمکیا خبر تھی کہ چلا آئے گا الحاد بھی ساتھ

We had thought education would bring economic freedom
We did not know that atheism would also come with it

گھر میں پرویز کے شیریں تو ہوئی جلوہ نمالے کے آئی ہے مگر تیشہء فرہاد بھی ساتھ

Though Shirin did honor Parviz with her presence
But she brought the ax of Farhad also with her

تخم دیگر بکف آریم و بکاریم ز نوکانچہ کشتیم ز خجلت نتواں کرد درو
