Is this external then internal? What is it? What manner of thing is it the eye sees? What is it?

اندرون سے یا بیرون یہ کیا ہے؟ جو کچھ نگاہ دیکھتی ہے، یہ کیا ہے، اور کیسے ہے؟

This is couplet 5 of 38 in “زیارت ارواح جمال الدین افغانی و سعید حلیم پاشا” (The Sphere Of Mercury: Visitation to the spirits of Jamal al-Din Afghani and Sa‘id Halim Pasha) in the section The Sphere of Mecury, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Javid Nama (جاوید نامہ), published in 1932.
