خاک خموش و در خروشسست نہاد و سخت کوشگاہ بہ بزم نا و نوشگاہ جنازہ ئی بدوشمیر جھان و سفتہ گوش می نگریم و میرویم

English translation

Silent and uproarious, lazy and industrious, sometimes quite hilarious, and sometimes lugubrious.
Man, earth-lord, is slave to us. We watch his ways and move on.

انسان خاموش بھی اور (جوش و ) خروش میں بھی، کمزور بدن مگر سخت محنتی، کبھی عیش و عشرت میں ، کبھی کندھوں پر جنازہ اٹھائے ۔حکمران و غلام (سب کچھ) دیکھتے چلے جا رہے ہیں۔
