طاسین زرتشت آزمایش کردن اہرمن زرتشت را
کس میان ناکسان ناکس شودفطرتش گر شعلہ باشد خس شود
English translation
By associating with nobodies, a somebody becomes a nobody, though his nature be a flame, be becomes a chip of wood.
Urdu translation
ناقصوں کے درمیان رہ کر انسان بھی ناقص ہو جاتا ہے؛ اس کی فطرت اگر شعلہ بھی ہو تو خس و خاشاک ہو جاتا ہے۔

This is couplet 11 of 29 in “طاسین زرتشت آزمایش کردن اہرمن زرتشت را” (TASIN OF ZOROASTER: Ahriman Tempts Zoroaster) in the section The Sphere of the Moon, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Javid Nama (جاوید نامہ), published in 1932.
