زندہ رود از خاکدان ما بگویاز زمین و آسمان ما بگوی
English translation
Zinda-Rud, tell us of our terrestrial world, speak to us of our earth and sky.
Urdu translation
زندہ رود ہمارے خاکدان (دنیا) اور اس کے زمین و آسماں کے متعلق کچھ بتا۔
About this couplet
This is couplet 33 of 38 in “زیارت ارواح جمال الدین افغانی و سعید حلیم پاشا” (The Sphere Of Mercury: Visitation to the spirits of Jamal al-Din Afghani and Sa‘id Halim Pasha) in the section The Sphere of Mecury, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Javid Nama (جاوید نامہ), published in 1932.
