English translation
In the heart of a people that once shattered the world I have seen a conflict between religion and country.
Urdu translation
ملت اسلامیہ جس کا کام زمانے کے باطل اثرات کو مٹانا ہے ؛ اس کے ضمیر کے اندر میں دین و وطن کی کشمکش دیکھتا ہوں۔

This is couplet 35 of 38 in “زیارت ارواح جمال الدین افغانی و سعید حلیم پاشا” (The Sphere Of Mercury: Visitation to the spirits of Jamal al-Din Afghani and Sa‘id Halim Pasha) in the section The Sphere of Mecury, from Allama Muhammad Iqbal's Persian book Javid Nama (جاوید نامہ), published in 1932.
