English translation
You who have been given the agony of the eternal quest, explain to me the meaning of a verse of yours:
The dove is a handful of ashes, the nightingale a network of colour – O lamentation, what is the true sign of a broken heart?
Urdu translation
آپ کو درد جستجو عطا ہوا ہے؛ مجھے اپنے ایک شعر کے معنی تو بتائیے۔'قمری کف خاکستر و بلبل قفس رنگ؛ اے نالہ نشان جگر سوختہ کیا ہے؟'
