بیتو از خواب عدم دیدہ گشودن نتوان
دل یاران ز نواہای پریشانم سوختمن از آن نغمہ تپیدم کہ سرودن نتوان
English translation
My friends’ minds are disturbed by my distracted songs. My mind is restless owing to a song that never can be sung.

دوستوں کے دل میری پریشاں نواؤں سے جل گئے، اور میں اس نغمہ سے جل رہا ہوں جو گایا نہیں جا سکتا۔
