نکتہ دان المنے را در ارمصحبتی افتاد با پیر عجم

گفت رومی اے سخن را جان نگارتو ملک صید استی و یزدان شکار

Rumi said, ‘You who bring words to life, and hunt angels and God;

فکر تو در کنج دل خلوت گزیداین جہان کہنہ را باز آفرید

Your thought has made its home in the inner recesses of the heart, and created this old world anew.

سوز و ساز جان بہ پیکر دیدہ ئیدر صدف تعمیر گوہر دیدہ ئی

At one and the same time in the body’s frame, you have seen the tranquility and the restlessness of the soul; you have been a witness to the birth of the pearl in the shell.

ہر کسی از رمز عشق آگاہ نیستہر کسی شایان این درگاہ نیست

Not everyone knows the secret of love; or is fit to reach these portals.

"داند آن کو نیکبخت و محرم استزیرکی ز ابلیس و عشق از آدم است"رومی

‘He who is blest, and a confidant, knows that cunning comes from Iblis and love from Adam.’
