کھول آنکھ، زمیں دیکھ، فلک دیکھ، فضا دیکھمشرق سے ابھرتے ہوئے سورج کو ذرا دیکھاس جلوئہ بے پردہ کو پردوں میں چھپا دیکھایام جدائی کے ستم دیکھ، جفا دیکھبے تاب نہ ہو معرکہء بیم و رجا دیکھ!

Open thy eyes and look above, look at the streak of dawn; Look at the veiling of the vision; look at the banishment unfair; look at the battle of hope and fear.

ہیں تیرے تصرف میں یہ بادل، یہ گھٹائیںیہ گنبد افلاک، یہ خاموش فضائیںیہ کوہ یہ صحرا، یہ سمندر یہ ہوائیںتھیں پیش نظر کل تو فرشتوں کی ادائیںآئینہء ایام میں آج اپنی ادا دیکھ!

Thine are the clouds, the rains, the skies, thine are the winds, the storms, the woods, the mountains, the rivers are thine; the world of the angels was a void; look at the peopled earth, which is thine.

سمجھے گا زمانہ تری آنکھوں کے اشارےدیکھیں گے تجھے دور سے گردوں کے ستارےناپید ترے بحر تخیل کے کنارےپہنچیں گے فلک تک تری آہوں کے شرارےتعمیر خودی کر، اثر آہ رسا دیکھ!

Thou wilt rule it like a king; the stars will gaze in wonder; thy vision will encompass the earth; thy sighs will reach the heavens; look at the power of thy pain and passion.

خورشید جہاں تاب کی ضو تیرے شرر میںآباد ہے اک تازہ جہاں تیرے ہنر میںجچتے نہیں بخشے ہوئے فردوس نظر میںجنت تری پنہاں ہے ترے خون جگر میںاے پیکر گل کوشش پیہم کی جزا دیکھ!

The spark in thee is a radiant sun; a new world lives in thee; thou carest not for a borrowed heaven; thy life-blood has it concealed; look at the reward of anguish and toil.

نالندہ ترے عود کا ہر تار ازل سےتو جنس محبت کا خریدار ازل سےتو پیر صنم خانہء اسرار ازل سےمحنت کش و خوں ریز و کم آزار ازل سےہے راکب تقدیر جہاں تیری رضا، دیکھ!

Thy lyre has an eternal plaintive string, panting with the passion of love; thou guardest eternal secrets divine and livest a life of obedient power; look at the world as shaped by thy will.
